What do I do if I get closed out of a mathematics class that I really needed for the next semester?

The department office for the Department of Mathematics and Statistics usually compiles a waiting list for any course that fills up as registration is taking place. This office is located on the 4th Floor of the Mathematics Building, and you are advised to go there and put your name on the list if you are closed out and need the course. It is also a good idea to call or visit the professor who will be teaching the course you were closed out of, to discuss options. This professor can also ensure that you are placed on the waiting list. You should also consider other options of what you might take if you cannot get in to the class (making sure to look carefully at prerequisites to ensure that you can take the class that you select). Finally, if at any point in the process, you need additional help, contact one of your advisors.
