I want to take Math 417 but can't get in because it is listed as a co-requisite with the Methods Block. Can I still take the course?

Yes. Some checksheets indicate that Math 417 must be taken along with the Methods Block in the Senior Year. But any other student who is already in the program and operating from a different checksheet can take the course anytime, as long as the prerequisites have been met (with a "C" or better in each). HOWEVER, you will not be allowed in to the class by registering by the STAR system (by phone) or on the Web. If you qualify for Math 417 and want to take it outside of the Methods Block, go to the Mathematics Department office in Room 450 Math-Science Building, and the secretary in that office can 'hand place' you into the course. (Oridinarily, even those who are registered for the Methods Block must also register for MATH 417 in the Department Office.) Finally, if you have any questions about the class, if you qualify, etc., you may want to contact the instructor directly -- Dr. David Meel (meel@bgnet.bgsu.edu).
